Description

The bottle you see here is the Macallan Double Cask 12 Year Old, particularly their 2018 to 2024 release. It gets its character from European and American Oak, and both are seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. 

What should you expect? On the nose, fudge, candied orange and lemon, vanilla, and soft spice. On the palate, the unmistakable sweetness of American oak. A fully rounded single malt, you also get flavors of fudge, citrus, and that same soft spice. The finish is medium length with sweet oak and lingering citrus and spice.

While the release does vary, the Macallan Double Cask has repeatedly won various awards - a boost in its reputation, if you will. It won a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) in 2008. 

The Macallan Double Cask 12 Year Old is often described as a balanced, accessible Macallan that makes for a fantastic daily drink. If you have particularly come to adore this release, better get your orders in while you still can.
