Description

The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is a tribute to George Smith, who founded the distillery. He licensed his still in 1824, in the remote Glenlivet valley of Speyside. This single malt gives you a smooth, friendly taste of the house style.

There is no age statement on the label. Instead, the whisky is matured in traditional oak casks and first-fill American oak. Those first-fill casks add creaminess and a soft sweetness. It is made in the distillery's lantern-shaped copper stills and bottled at 40% ABV.

Raise the glass and you'll meet delicate citrus, mostly sweet orange. Creamy vanilla and a touch of honey follow. On the palate, zesty orange and juicy pear lead the way, with a hint of toffee apple. The finish is long, creamy and smooth.

It has won its share of praise. Founder's Reserve took Gold at the 2024 International Spirits Challenge. It also won Gold at the 2019 International Wine & Spirits Competition.

Enjoy it neat, or over a large ice cube to bring out more creamy sweetness. Its bright citrus suits a Whisky Smash or a tall highball with soda and orange peel.
