Suntory Toki is a blended Japanese whisky from the House of Suntory. It brings together whiskies from three distilleries: Hakushu, Yamazaki and Chita. The name Toki means time in Japanese. It first launched in North America in 2016.
Two whiskies form its core. Hakushu malt aged in American white oak brings citrus and mint. Heavy-type grain whisky from Chita adds vanilla and cocoa. A small share of aged Yamazaki malt gives spice and depth. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
Toki pours a clear gold. On the nose you get fresh basil, green apple and a little honey. On the palate, bright grapefruit and green grape meet cool peppermint and thyme. The finish is subtly sweet and spicy, with vanilla oak, white pepper and ginger.
Toki has picked up praise along the way. The House of Suntory lists two Gold Medals for it. One came from the International Spirits Challenge in 2026.
Toki was made with the highball in mind. Mix one part whisky with three parts chilled sparkling water over ice. Add a lemon peel or a grapefruit coin. It also works in an Old Fashioned or a Whisky Sour. Try it with sushi, tempura or grilled yakitori.
Because it is light and easy, it suits you well if you are new to Japanese whisky. Fans of bright, fresh styles will reach for it often too. It is a simple way to add range to your whisky collection.
