Sugarland's Shine Mark & Digger Hazelnut Rum (750Ml)

Description

Mark & Digger's Hazelnut Rum comes from Sugarlands Distilling Co. in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is named for Mark Ramsey and Digger Manes, the pair you may know from the TV show Moonshiners. They make it by bringing real hazelnuts together with rum. The distillery first poured it in January 2017. It is bottled at 80 proof.

Lift the glass and you get toasted hazelnut and brown sugar. The rum feels smooth and full in your mouth. Vanilla, cinnamon and honey come through on the palate. It closes with a sweet kick of oak.

The Beverage Tasting Institute gave it 87 points and a Silver Medal.

Pour it over ice or stir it into hot coffee. It is lovely in creamy rum drinks, too. For dessert, try it next to crème brûlée or vanilla ice cream. Apples, bananas, caramel and chocolate all bring out the nutty side.

Digger once said their wives were the first big fans of this rum. If you have a sweet tooth and like nutty flavors, you will see why.
