Description

Sipsmith started making gin in London in 2009. Strawberry Smash takes their juniper-led recipe and adds a summer twist.

The strawberries have a story. They were grown at Hugh Lowe Farms in Kent, the grower for Wimbledon. When the 2020 tournament was cancelled, Sipsmith put the harvest into this gin. English mint joins the fruit, with no artificial flavor added.

You still smell juniper first. Soft strawberry, light citrus and a hint of mint follow. On the palate, strawberry and mint sit on a classic herbal base. The finish is dry, with a cool mint note at the end.

It is a London Dry gin at heart, so it is not a sugary liqueur. You get real fruit with the backbone of juniper still in place.

Mix a gin and tonic with a lime twist and a fresh strawberry. A Collins works well too: lemon juice, simple syrup and soda over ice. Or try it in a spritz on a warm afternoon.

It suits a summer party or a cocktail night at home. Pour it for friends who like gin but want something lighter and fruitier.
