Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is named for Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins, who lived from 1911 to 1973. He served in the Navy and became a pioneer of old-school tattoo art in Honolulu. The rum honors his bold, no-shortcuts style. Today the brand belongs to William Grant & Sons, a family-owned Scottish distiller.

This Spiced rum starts with a blend of Caribbean rums. Its character comes from a recipe of natural spices, not long years in wood. Vanilla and cinnamon lead the way. You will also pick up almond and a touch of cassia. It ends long and warm, with vanilla and spice.

The U.S. bottle is 92 proof, so it has real strength. Even so, it goes down smooth.
