They use Klosterneuberger apricots from the Danube Valley, and you can taste the difference right away. The team blends fresh apricot juice with an apricot eau-de-vie, so you get both the bright fruit and the deeper notes from the pits and skins.
You’ll notice a clean, ripe apricot flavor with gentle sweetness and a little acidity to keep it balanced. There’s no heavy syrup or artificial taste. At 24% ABV, it drinks stronger than many everyday fruit liqueurs, but that strength helps it hold its character in cocktails.
