Redbreast 27 Year Old Irish Whiskey (750Ml)

Description

Midleton Distillery makes Redbreast 27 Year Old, a single pot still Irish whiskey. It was launched in March 2020 as the oldest permanent release in the Redbreast family. The whiskey is triple distilled in copper pot stills. It then matures for at least 27 years in bourbon casks, Oloroso sherry casks and ruby port casks. The port casks come from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

It is bottled at cask strength, so the exact strength moves a little by batch. The first release came out at 54.6% ABV. Limited stock and long aging make every bottle special.

The nose opens with exotic fruits and red berries. Fresh herbs, wood spices, vanilla, toffee and toasted oak come next. On the palate the texture is incredibly rich. Ripe stone fruit and summer berries meet a hint of chilli and cherry menthol. Cinnamon and nutmeg warm the middle. The finish is long, with ripe fruit and wood spice holding on well.

At the 2025 World Whiskies Awards it was named World's Best Pot Still. In 2025 it also won Gold with 96 points at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition gave it Double Gold, and the International Spirits Challenge gave it Gold.

Pour it neat and let it rest for a moment. A few drops of water open up the tropical fruit. Next to Redbreast 15 or 21, it tastes richer and more intense. Enjoy it with dark chocolate, nuts or aged cheese.
