Description

This flight shows you how wood can change one bourbon. RD1 Spirits makes it in Lexington, Kentucky. You get three 200ml bottles of Kentucky straight bourbon, each aged four years or more. RD1 then sets new wood staves inside the barrels for a second rest.

The French oak bottle, at 101 proof, smells of crème brûlée, leather and vanilla. Caramel, cherry and dark chocolate follow.

The amburana bottle, at 110 proof, brings apple, cinnamon and brown sugar. It tastes like spice cake and ginger snaps.

The oak and maple bottle, at 99.9 proof, bursts with maple and butterscotch. Black pepper and toasted caramel close it out.
