Ole Smoky Cookies & Cream is a creamy liqueur from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Ole Smoky blends its whiskey with the flavor of cookies and cream. The whiskey base is made from corn, rye and barley. The finished liqueur sits at a gentle 35 proof (17.5% ABV).

Ole Smoky was founded by Joe Baker and calls itself Tennessee’s first legal moonshine company. Tennessee changed its distilling laws in 2009. Ole Smoky then became the first federally licensed distillery in East Tennessee. Today it makes whiskies, moonshines and liqueurs. At The Holler in Gatlinburg, you can watch its copper pot stills at work.

Open the bottle and you get chocolate cookie and sweet cream. The sip is creamy, with chocolate sandwich cookie and a soft vanilla side. There is just enough whiskey to keep it from tasting flat. It ends smooth and sweet, a lot like dessert.

The easiest way to enjoy it is over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can also sip it chilled on the rocks. Blend it into a milkshake, or mix a cookies and cream White Russian.
