This Bourbon from Old Forester is a 2021 release of their limited edition vintage-dated Birthday Bourbon in celebration of their founder. Beautiful, rich and inviting, this bourbon is well worth the wait. Founded by George Garvin Brown in 1870, this year marks the 151st year of the company. This iteration in celebration is the 21st is bottled at 104 proof, made of 119 barrels, aged 12 years, and was barreled in April of 2009. The nose is a decadent symphony of sweet red berry desserts with dried herbs, vanilla and notes of pecan, maple syrup and cocoa. The velvety mouthfeel carries rich flavors of caramel and sugar leading into bright peppery periphery spice. The finish is long and warm with subtle notes of chocolate, raisin, and oak spice with a bit of dryness.
