Old Fitzgerald 13 Year Spring 2019 is a Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Heaven Hill. It was distilled in September 2005 and bottled in February 2019. That makes it 13 years old, bottled at 100 proof.

This is a wheated bourbon, with a mash bill of 75% corn, 20% wheat and 5% malted barley. It was the third release in the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond decanter series.

On the nose, you get light vanilla custard, warm spice and seasoned oak. The palate is sweet, with honey, vanilla and ripe summer fruit like peach. The finish is long and oak-led, with a little sweetness that lingers. Whisky Advocate scored it 93 points.

Pour it slowly, neat or with a few drops of water. Try it beside smoked brisket, roasted nuts or pecan pie.
