Description

Octomore 16.1 is a super-heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich. It is the reference point of the 16 series. The Concerto barley is grown on the Scottish mainland and peated to 101.4 PPM.

It aged five years on Islay in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 59.3%, un-chill filtered, with no added color.

Waves of peat smoke come first. Then salted caramel, honeyed melon and apricot soften the nose. Chocolate and coconut fill your palate, with an earthy, mineral edge.

The finish is long and smoky. Try a few drops of water.
