Description

Mr. Pickles is a Pacific Northwest gin from Wolf Spirit Distillery in Eugene, Oregon. It is named after Master Distiller Ben Green's rescue dog. Mr. Pickles is an American Pit Bull Terrier who was found in a mall parking lot in Bakersfield, California. These days he helps out at the distillery.

Despite the name, there is no pickle in the bottle. The base is 100% soft white winter wheat from nearby Camas Country Mill. The spirit is distilled three times. On the last run, the vapor passes through a basket of 12 botanicals. Juniper leads, joined by sencha green tea, pink peppercorn and marshmallow root. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

Open it and you get juniper and pine, with juicy citrus and bright, sweet herbs. On the palate, those herbs sit over an earthy base, with a slight hint of black pepper. The finish is long and smooth.

Judges like it, too. It won Gold with 89 points at the 2024 TAG Global Spirits Awards.
