Merry Edwards Winery is a celebrated California estate, best known for its outstanding Pinot Noir wines. Nestled in the Sonoma Coast AVA, this region benefits from a cool, ocean-influenced climate that gives the wines their signature freshness and elegance. Each bottle is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from diverse vineyards across the Sonoma Coast, reflecting the area’s rich variety of soils and microclimates. Founded by Merry Edwards, one of California’s first successful female winemakers and a true pioneer in the industry, the winery continues to honor her legacy of excellence.
In 2019, the renowned Champagne house Louis Roederer acquired Merry Edwards Winery, further strengthening its reputation for quality and craftsmanship. The Pinot Noir is crafted from a mix of carefully selected clones, including the exclusive UCD Clone 37 (“Merry Edwards Selection”), along with 115, 667, 777, and Pommard. Aged for about 9–10 months in French oak barrels, with nearly half being new oak, it develops layers of flavor and complexity.
Expect bright notes of cherry, raspberry, and plum, accented by hints of spice, rose petals, and earth. With its vibrant acidity, silky tannins, and elegant finish, it pairs beautifully with duck, game birds, and mushroom dishes. Sustainably farmed and highly rated, this wine offers timeless California charm.
