After a summer job bottling whisky as a lad, Graeme Macaloney fell in love with whisky-making and set out to make a living doing so on his own. After Studying the Irish pot still process of making whiskey and gleaning information on the maturation process from the renowned Dr. Jim Swan, Macaloney founded his distillery on Vancouver Island in Canada. To this day Victoria’s Caledonian Distillery operates alongside its brother, Twa Dogs Brewery, crafting whiskies with the finest tools and ingredients available. Macaloney's Caledonian Oaken Poitin is full bodied and smooth with a beautiful natural color from a non-chill filtration process. On the nose are sweet notes of. The creamy mouthfeel enters the palate with forward cereal notes mingling with fruity and floral notes of rose, papaya, nectarine, apricot, honey, apples and sweet orange with hints of black currant, red wine, toasted oak and wood spices. The finish is long, with oak lingering on the palate.
