Description

Laphroaig Quarter Cask is a heavily peated single malt from the Isle of Islay. It is matured twice. First it ages in ex-bourbon barrels. Then it moves into small American oak quarter casks. The smaller size puts more of the whisky in touch with the wood.

The nose gives you smouldering peat with a surprising lift of coconut and banana. The palate is deep and smoky, yet a gentle sweetness keeps it in balance. It feels soft and velvety in your mouth. The finish is very long and drying, with smoke and spice to the end.

Laphroaig bottles it at 48% ABV. In 2021 it won Gold at both the International Wine & Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
