Description
Founded by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston in 1815, Laphroaig Distillery is located on the southern coast of the Isle of Laphroaig. Inspired by the legend of the Irish monks rumored to have brought the art of whisky-making to the southernmost edges of the Scottish Island, the farmer brothers started their business when taxes and laws concerning alcohol became more relaxed. For 139 years, the experience and traditions have been passed down through the generations. Laphroaig Càirdeas Cask Strength is a limited edition expression of their single Malt
Scotch. Gaelic for friendship, the name Càirdeas is meant to represent a celebration of friendship and those the distillery has made over the years. Distillery manager John Campbell crafts this limited edition malt once a year. Càirdeas 2021 is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, quarter casks, and then PX Sherry European oak hogsheads. This triple maturation results in a rich and intricate expression of flavors. Its aromas are smoky with hints of grilled bacon, honey and toasted oak. The palate offers flavors of toasted nuts, toffee, cinnamon, caramel and a finish with hot, spicy and salty characteristics. Don’t miss your chance to grab a bottle of this cask strength limited-edition special release from Laphroaig!
