Booker Noe, creator of Knob Creek Bourbon also the grandson of James Beam, joined the family business in 1950 was promoted as the Master Distiller. His grandfather Johannes Reginald Beam came to America after the American Revolutionary War from Germany. James Beam settled in Kentucky Country and began harvesting corn and began the family heirloom business of distilling the excess grains he harvested into whiskey. Seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production and are created the Beam Dynasty. Booker had a great personality and was known throughout the region. He started the “Small Batch Bourbon Collection” – the collection includes Basil Hayden’s, Baker’s, Booker’s, and Knob Creek. He is credited as the father of the small-batch bourbon movement. Knob Creek is one of the most popular brands on the market due to Booker’s efforts and the way he made sure his bourbon met the standards of his ancestors. Knob Creek Rye Bourbon recently came back as one of the top-selling bourbons.
