This Knob Creek bourbon is the oldest age-stated release in the brand’s history, surpassing the earlier 12- and 15-year limited editions. Aged for a full 18 years—twice as long as the flagship 9-year bourbon—it was crafted to celebrate Knob Creek’s 30th Anniversary and the Small Batch Bourbon Collection. Bottled at 100 proof, it delivers a robust yet approachable strength.
The bourbon follows the classic Jim Beam mash bill: 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley. Extended aging in new charred American oak barrels with a Level 4 "Alligator" Char gives it a deep copper hue, heavy oak influence, and thick legs on the glass. On the nose, you’ll notice brown sugar, aged oak, leather, char, and subtle hints of dark fruit and toasted nuts.
The palate is rich and wood-forward, featuring caramelized oak, vanilla, baking spices, dark chocolate, and refined toasted almond notes. Its long finish balances smoky oak tannins with sweet caramel and a subtle floral or minty tingle. Housed in a commemorative wooden box, this limited-edition bourbon is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water in a Glencairn glass to fully unlock its complexity.
