Description

Ketel One Oranje is the orange-flavored version of the classic Dutch vodka. It is made at the Nolet Distillery in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The Nolet family has run that distillery since 1691. Oranje first came out in 2010, timed to the Dutch holiday of Queen's Day. The name honors the royal House of Orange.

The base is Ketel One vodka. It is infused with natural essence from two kinds of orange. Mandarins come from Italy, and Valencia oranges come from Florida and Brazil. The flavor leans fresh and dry rather than sugary.

The nose is all fresh mandarin and orange zest. On the palate you get juicy orange with a pithy, zesty edge. A touch of warm spice shows up near the end. The finish is clean and creamy, with plenty of orange.

Pour it over ice with a twist, or top it with soda and an orange slice. It also shines in a Cosmopolitan or a simple screwdriver. Serve it next to citrus desserts or light seafood.
