Kavalan Classic Single Malt (750Ml)

Description

Kavalan Classic was the first whisky the Kavalan Distillery ever made, and it's still the brand's flagship. It's a smooth, flavorful whisky from northeastern Taiwan. The distillery opened in 2005. It uses pure water from the Snow Mountain range. Taiwan's warm climate helps the spirit pick up rich fruit from the oak fast.

Most of the whisky matures in refill and ex-bourbon barrels. A small share rests in sherry casks. It's bottled at 43%.

The nose is clean and floral, with a hint of butterfly orchid. Honey, ripe mango, pear drop, vanilla and coconut follow, with a suggestion of chocolate. On the palate you'll taste sweet mango juice. A gentle, spicy warmth builds behind it. The finish is medium in length, oily and bright with citrus.

Judges love it. Kavalan Classic won Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It earned Gold at the same contest in 2025.

Enjoy it neat, with a few drops of water or in a tall highball. It goes well with light seafood, fruit desserts or crème brûlée. If you like fruity, smooth whiskies, this bottle belongs on your shelf.
