Kahlua Coffee Liqueur originated in 1936 where a simple idea was brought to life. Two individuals introduced coffee and Kahula which was one of the first coffee liqueurs. Their idea developed into a business where it became a product of great excellence. Kahula originated in Mexico and expanded to the United States where it gained a lot of attention and popularity through advertisement.
The production of Kahlua Coffee Liqueur is a timely process due to the great amount of time it takes to get the perfect coffee beans. It all begins with the coffee beans which are grown away from the sunlight for about six years. After they are fully grown they are taken apart and are set to rest for a couple of months. This process enhances the taste of the coffee for a flavorful finish. The coffee is then combined with rum after it is distilled where Kahlua Coffee Liqueur is created. Kahula consists of a strong coffee flavored liqueur with some sweetness along with vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon tones.
