Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky built on age and balance. The blenders bring together up to 18 different malt and grain whiskies from distilleries across Scotland. Every one of them has rested in oak for at least 18 years. It is bottled at 40% ABV, and the long time in wood gives it a rich, rounded feel.

Three distilleries play a big part in the flavor. Blair Athol, in the Highlands, brings warming spice. Glen Elgin, in Speyside, adds a burst of sweet fruit. Cardhu, also in Speyside, gives creamy smoothness and a long finish. The blending team shapes these and other whiskies into one smooth whole.

The Johnnie Walker story starts with a young grocer. After his father died in 1819, John Walker sold the family farm and opened a shop. Frustrated by single malts that changed from batch to batch, he began blending his own whisky. That search for a steady, balanced flavor still guides this bottle today.

Pour a glass and sweet stewed fruit comes through first. Creamy vanilla and malty cereal follow, with fragrant almond and a little tangerine. Warming spice builds through the middle of the sip.
