Jefferson’s Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys. The brand now also calls it Triple Rye, since three ryes go into the bottle. They are aged 6, 7 and 9 years. Part of the mix is Jefferson’s Ocean Rye. It is bottled at 88 proof, or 44% ABV.

The goal is balance. Each rye adds its own character, so you get depth without harshness. It is a whiskey made with care, built for both sipping and mixing. The founder says it starts with a bold kick and ends warm and smooth, not dry like many ryes.

Rye spice and toasted vanilla greet you on the nose. On the palate, baking spice and vanilla mingle with ripe cherry. The finish is smooth, yet still bold enough to remind you it is rye.

The blend has done well with judges. It won Double Gold at the 2026 New York International Spirits Competition. It also took Double Gold at the 2025 John Barleycorn Awards. The 2026 Ascot Awards gave it Gold.

Sip it neat or with a splash of water. It shines in an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan. Try it with grilled meats, sharp cheddar or dark chocolate. If you like rye with spice and a soft landing, keep this one close.
