Jameson Limited Edition 18 Year Irish Whiskey is a rare, slow-made blend from one of Ireland’s best-known names. John Jameson founded the company in 1780. Today the whiskey is triple distilled at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork. This bottle brings together three signature distillates, including pot still and grain whiskey.

Each part matures on its own for at least 18 years in American and Spanish oak. The whiskeys are then married for at least six more months in a fresh American oak cask. That last step adds depth and polish. Bottled at 46% ABV, it has more weight than younger Jameson expressions.

Raise the glass and you’ll find aromatic oils, a touch of wood, and spicy toffee. On the palate, it is mellow and smooth. Toffee and spice come first, followed by wood, soft leather, and vanilla. A gentle, sherry-like nuttiness ties it together. The long, lingering finish keeps wood, spice, and toffee going to the end.

Plenty of judges agree with us. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, it took Double Gold in 2011, and Gold medals have followed. Judges there gave it Double Gold again in 2017 and 2019, and Gold in 2025.
