Description

Jägermeister Manifest is a richer, stronger take on the classic German herbal liqueur. It starts with the original 56 botanicals, then adds more. Mast-Jägermeister launched it in 2017 as the world's first super-premium herbal liqueur. It is bottled at 38% ABV, up from 35% for the original.

The process takes far longer than standard Jäger. The botanicals soak in a wheat distillate for nine to twelve months. A fifth macerate adds four more, including vanilla and dried fruit. The wheat spirit itself spends 15 months in small toasted oak barrels. The finished liqueur then matures for over a year in small and large oak casks.

It pours a tawny copper color. On the nose, vanilla and barrel oak meet anise, with a subtle smoky edge. The palate is only slightly sweet, with anise and dried fruit up front. Light spice and herbal bitterness follow. It finishes on vanilla and oak.

Manifest is made for slow sipping. Pour it neat, over a single large cube, or lightly chilled in a short tumbler. After dinner, try it with dark chocolate, aged cheese or roasted nuts.

If you only know Jäger as an ice-cold shot, this bottle will surprise you. It suits anyone who enjoys a complex herbal pour, and longtime fans will spot the family resemblance.
