This Hennessy X.O carries a limited-edition design for Lunar New Year 2026, the Year of the Horse. Chinese contemporary artist Xu Zhen created the artwork. It shows a horse caught mid-gallop in sweeping lines, with gold accents and lucky red tones. Equine motifs also appear on the dark red neck capsule. The carafe wears a red and gold label and sits in a cream gift box.

Inside is the classic Hennessy X.O blend. Maurice Hennessy first created it in 1870 for his circle of friends. It was one of the first cognacs to be called extra old. Its eaux-de-vie begin their ageing in young oak barrels, which gives the blend its power. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

On the nose you find rich dried fruit. The first sip brings sweet candied fruit, then a rising warmth and peppery spice. Dark chocolate rounds out the middle, and oak with vanilla follows. Many tasters also find dried rose and jasmine on the nose, with candied orange on the palate. The finish is long, with oak notes that echo everything before them.
