Hennessy VSOP is a premium brandy known as Cognac, made exclusively in the Cognac region of France. The term "VSOP" stands for Very Superior Old Pale, meaning the youngest spirits in the blend are aged for at least four years. This special blend was first created in 1817 for the future King George IV of England, and it has been cherished ever since.
The Cognac comes in a standard 750ml bottle and contains 40% alcohol by volume (80 proof). It is crafted from over 60 different grape spirits, called eaux-de-vie, all made from Ugni Blanc grapes, which are the main variety used in Cognac. The blend is aged in French oak barrels, giving it a rich and refined flavor. On the nose, it offers soft spices like vanilla, clove, and cinnamon, along with light toasted oak notes.
The taste is smooth and balanced, featuring hints of oak, apricot, and fresh grapes, while its color shows a warm mix of ruby and amber. The finish is long and velvety. Known as "Privilège," this historic VSOP can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or in classic cocktails like a Sidecar or Old-Fashioned. Today, Hennessy VSOP remains one of the most popular and celebrated VSOP Cognacs worldwide.
