Description

Hendrick's Oasium is a limited-edition gin from Master Distiller Lesley Gracie. It is the sixth bottling in her Cabinet of Curiosities series, which brings out one limited release at a time. The idea came from a trip she took to a desert oasis. She wanted each sip to feel like a cool, green escape from the heat.

Oasium is made at the Hendrick's distillery in the seaside town of Girvan, Scotland. It starts from the classic Hendrick's base, which comes from two different stills. Gracie then adds green botanicals, delicate herbs and a touch of citrus. The familiar rose and cucumber infusions are still part of the mix. It is bottled at 43.4%.

The nose feels fresh and green, with bright citrus and aromatic herbs. On the palate those herbs meet citrus oil and a soft floral note from the rose. Cucumber and juniper sit quietly in the background. One review also picks up orange marmalade and sweet peach. The finish is zesty and clean, and your mouth feels ready for the next sip.

Hendrick's suggests a simple gin and tonic with a slice of cucumber. You can also build an Oasium Fizz with pink grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup and soda. A Paloma-style drink with fresh grapefruit works well too. Serve any of them with light seafood or a crisp green salad.
