Revival is the Tennessee straight bourbon in Heaven's Door, the whiskey collection created with Bob Dylan. He wanted a set of American whiskeys that each tell a story. This one tells a classic one, done with care.
It is made with a sour mash and spends its whole life in Tennessee. The spirit rests at least five years in new charred American oak. Single-story warehouses help it age evenly. It is bottled at 92 proof, non-chill filtered to keep its mature flavor, and it is certified kosher.
Lift the glass and you'll get caramel, vanilla and oak, with charred wood and toasted grain behind them. Sip, and vanilla and baking spice sit on a bed of toasted oak. The finish is smooth and long, with more caramel plus cinnamon and nutmeg.
Drinkers voted it the number one Consumer Choice for best bourbon at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Critic F. Paul Pacult gave it his Highest Recommendation. He called it a harmonious bourbon that hits the right notes.
Try it neat first. A few drops of water or a single big cube both work well too. Mixed into an Old Fashioned, it shines too. Serve it with smoked brisket, aged cheddar, candied pecans or a slice of pecan pie. It's a fine bottle for a Dylan fan or anyone who likes a warm, spicy bourbon.
