Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon with seven years in new charred oak. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). As a bonded whiskey, it meets the rules of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Those rules ask for at least four years. This one goes well past that.

The story starts in 1939, when Heaven Hill launched its first bonded bourbon. It soon became the top-selling bourbon in Kentucky. In 2019, the distillery swapped its old 6-year bond for this 7-year version. The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.

Pour a glass and you'll smell vanilla, caramel and honey. The palate is sweet and warming. Caramel and honey lead, with rye spice and toasted oak behind them. The finish is long and warm, with oak and a little cinnamon.

Judges keep taking notice. It won Double Gold at the 2024 International Spirits Challenge and Double Platinum at the 2024 ASCOT Awards. The 2023 Bartender Spirits Awards named it World Whisky of the Year. It also earned Double Gold at the 2024 TAG Global Spirits Awards and the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition.
