This Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is special because each bottle comes from one unique barrel, not blended with others. It’s crafted at the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and proudly owned by the Sazerac Company. Made with Buffalo Trace’s high-rye Mash Bill #2, which includes about 12–15% rye grain, it shares the same recipe used for popular bourbons like Blanton’s, Elmer T. Lee, and Rock Hill Farms.
Bottled at 88.9 proof (44.45% alcohol), it’s slightly lighter than many bourbons, offering a smooth and balanced flavor. While it doesn’t carry an official age statement, most enthusiasts believe it’s aged around eight years. Named after Hancock Lee, one of the founders of the 1700s Leestown settlement along the Kentucky River, this bourbon carries a bit of history in every sip.
The flavor is light and sweet, with notes of vanilla, corn, cherry, and cedar, along with tropical hints of mango and papaya. Its taste is smooth and balanced, showing layers of honey, caramel, fruit, and a touch of rye spice. The finish is long, warm, and slightly oaky.
Often called the “little brother” of Blanton’s, it stands strong on its own. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or in a classic Manhattan.
