This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted by Grgich Hills Estate, a renowned Napa Valley winery founded in 1977 by Mike Grgich and Austin Hills, following Mike’s legendary win at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon, with small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, it perfectly reflects the rich character of Napa Valley, California.
The winery’s estate-grown grapes come from five Certified Organic vineyards in Yountville, Rutherford, and Calistoga. These vineyards follow Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic farming practices, meaning no artificial fertilizers or chemicals are used—only natural methods that respect the land. The wine is fermented with wild yeast and aged for about 20 months in French oak barrels, creating a balance of depth and elegance.
You’ll notice aromas of black currant, blackberry, black cherry, cedar, mocha, and a hint of vanilla or spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and rich, with smooth tannins, bright acidity, and a long, satisfying finish. With an alcohol content between 14.1% and 14.7%, it’s beautifully suited for grilled steak, roasted lamb, beef stew, or aged cheeses.
Often rated 90 points or higher by top critics, this wine can age gracefully for over a decade. The label proudly features the Croatian Coat of Arms, honoring Mike Grgich’s heritage.
