This Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is a special style made only in Ireland, using a mix of malted and unmalted barley. It is made for Mitchell & Son of Dublin by Irish Distillers at the famous Midleton Distillery in County Cork, showing true Irish skill and tradition. The whiskey is first aged in ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, giving it a deep and balanced flavor. It is then aged again in French oak Bordeaux wine casks from Château Léoville Barton, which adds rich fruit and spice notes.
This whiskey also honors the old Irish “Wine Geese” connection, inspired by Thomas Barton, an Irish merchant who started a Bordeaux wine house in the 1700s. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, it keeps its natural oils and full flavor. Even though it doesn’t show an age on the label, it usually contains whiskey aged between seven and ten years.
The aroma has spicy Pot Still notes with oak, flowers, and ripe red berries. The taste is creamy and smooth, mixing spice, vanilla, and orchard fruits with a touch of wine. The finish is long and warm, with gentle hints of oak and spice. This limited-edition Spot Whiskey has won global praise, including the award for “World’s Best Single Pot Still Whiskey.”
