This premium still red wine is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes known for their light to medium body and rich, complex flavors. It comes from Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, California—a region celebrated for producing exceptional Pinot Noir. The wine is made by Goldeneye Winery, part of The Duckhorn Portfolio, founded in 1996 with the goal of creating world-class Pinot Noir.
The grapes are sourced mainly from Goldeneye’s own vineyards—Confluence, Gowan Creek, The Narrows, and Cerise—as well as select local growers. After harvest, the wine is fermented in small batches using open-top fermenters to enhance flavor and complexity. It is then aged for about 16 months in French oak barrels, with 40–50% new oak to add subtle spice and structure.
On the nose it offers aromas of ripe red berries like raspberry and black cherry balanced with notes of baking spice, earth, and tea leaf. The palate is juicy and vibrant, revealing layers of blackberry, cherry, cranberry, leather, nutmeg, and a hint of minerality. With smooth tannins, bright acidity, and an alcohol level around 14.2–14.5%, this wine is elegant and well-balanced. It pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, pork tenderloin, or wild mushroom risotto and can age gracefully for 5–7 years.
