Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Glenmorangie that replaced Nectar d'Or. It spends 14 years in ex-bourbon casks, then two years in sweet wine casks from Sauternes, Monbazillac, Moscatel and Tokaji. It is bottled at 46% ABV.

The nose is rich and dessert-like, with warm brioche, baked apricot, vanilla custard and toasted almonds. The palate is thick and sticky, with creamy vanilla, apricot and raisin bread lifted by bright lemon. The finish is long, with lemon peel, fresh bread and a little honeycomb.

Sip it neat, adding water if you like, with a fruit tart or cheese board. It suits anyone who likes their single malt Scotch sweet and rich, and it makes a thoughtful gift.
