Glenmorangie The Infinita 18 Years Old is a Highland single malt made for slow evenings. It spends 15 years in American white oak casks that once held bourbon. Then part of the whisky moves into Oloroso sherry casks for extra time. The two parts are married back together before bottling at 43%. The result keeps Glenmorangie's bright, floral style while adding real depth.

Lift your glass and you meet honey poured over caramelised orange. Jasmine and lemon blossom drift through, with ripe figs and orange marmalade underneath. It is a lovely nose to spend a few minutes with.

On the palate the texture feels soft and almost oily. Citrus and caramel come first. Dates, figs and toasted nuts follow, with gentle spice and oak. A faint wisp of wood smoke sits in the background. The finish is long, closing on marmalade and figs.

Critics agree this is something special. At the 2024 TAG Global Spirits Awards it scored 92 points for Double Gold and also took Best in Show.

Enjoy it neat first, then try a few drops of water to bring out more fruit. Glenmorangie also suggests a good ice cube or a gently stirred Old Fashioned. It sits well beside dark chocolate, aged gouda, roasted almonds or crème brûlée.
