Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Scotch Whiskey (750Ml)

Description

Glenfarclas 25 Year Old is a single malt from an independent, family-owned distillery in Speyside. The Grant family has owned and run Glenfarclas since 1865, and still runs it today. The family calls its whisky a Highland Single Malt, since Speyside sits inside the Highlands. They use only spring water, malted barley, and yeast.

This one spends a quarter of a century in sherry casks before bottling at 43% ABV. It pours a deep amber. In the family's aged range it sits between the 21 and 30 Year Old. That range runs all the way from 10 to 40 years.

Nose first, and you get sherry, honey, and nuts, with raisins and dried fruit behind them. The palate is full-bodied and sherried. Dried fruit, caramel, and oak share the stage without any one taking over. The finish is long, with chocolate and gentle oak.

Judges have rewarded it often. In 2019 the International Spirits Challenge and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition both gave it gold. It won gold at the Scotch Whisky Masters that year too. At the World Whiskies Awards 2026 it was named overall winner for Speyside 21 Years and Over.

The distillery calls it an after-dinner whisky rich enough to be a dessert in itself. Pour it neat and give it a few minutes in the glass. A drop of water can bring out more fruit. Dark chocolate, roasted nuts, or a piece of aged cheese sit well beside it.
