This exceptional Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is crafted at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is part of the world-famous Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) — a limited-edition series released just once a year. Bottled at a powerful 136.1 proof (68.05% ABV), this bourbon is uncut and unfiltered, going straight from the barrel to the bottle for a bold and authentic taste.
Aged for 15 years and 2 months, using barrels distilled between late 2008 and early 2009, it’s made from Buffalo Trace’s Mash Bill #1, a low-rye recipe kept secret by the distillery. During aging, about 61% of the whiskey evaporated, showing the long and careful maturation process. The barrels came from several warehouses — C, L, M, and P — and from various floors, adding layers of flavor and depth.
With its dark copper or mahogany color, this bourbon offers rich aromas of dark cherry, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, and charred oak. The taste is full-bodied and complex, with notes of toffee, caramel, leather, baking spices, and dark chocolate. It finishes long, warm, and slightly spicy, leaving a touch of dry oak.
Released every fall in very limited quantities, it’s highly collectible and often sells out quickly, usually priced much higher than its $150 official release price.
