This exceptional Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It belongs to the famous Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC). This limited series comes out once a year, in the fall. George T. Stagg is bottled uncut and unfiltered. That means no water is added and no filtering is done. You get the bourbon just as it came out of the barrel.

This bottle is the 2018 release. The barrels were filled in the spring of 2003. The whiskey then aged for about 15 years. It was bottled at a powerful 124.9 proof (62.45% ABV). The barrels rested in six different warehouses: C, H, I, K, P and Q. Each spot ages whiskey a little differently. Together they add layers of flavor and depth.

The 2018 release is known for deep, dark flavors. Expect rich dark chocolate, bold espresso and tobacco. The body is full and rich, with plenty of warmth from the high proof. The finish is long and warming. Add a few drops of water and you'll find it opens up nicely.

BTAC bottles are made in very small numbers each year. That makes this 2018 George T. Stagg a prized find for bourbon collectors.
