George Dickel 15 Year Old Single Barrel was established in 1816, 40 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. George A. Dickel was a successful merchant in Nashville, TN when he entered the whisky business. He perfected his whisky and his reputation grew in the region. He sold the smoothest, most mellow spirit in the region. George A. Dickel and Co. was established and in time George A. Dickel bought a large share in 1878 when Cascade Hollow Distillery opened their doors in neighboring Coffee County.
George Dickel spelled his whisky without the letter "e" following his Scottish roots. George A. Dickel preferred to craft his whisky in the winter months rather than the summer months. He believed the whiskey was more smoother and began advertising their whisky was as "Mellow as Moonlight". He made sure his whisky was chilled before it went through the charcoal-mellow filtration aka the Lincoln County Press.
George Dickel Bottled in Bond was released in 2019 by launching the 2005 whisky. It earned awards in 2021 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition-Double Gold and earned 94 Points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. It earned the title for "Whisky of the Year" award from Whisky Advocate and was the top-rated American Whiskey of 2019 by Wine Enthusiast. George Dickel is a bold and balanced whisky that is bottled in Fall 2008. The 11 year old whisky has sweet flavors of dried apples, pecans, and maple syrup. The best way to enjoy George Dickel Bottled In Bond is sipping it slowly neat or on the rocks. Old Fashioned or Perfect Manhattan are some great cocktails you can make with Bottled in Bond.
