This Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey comes from Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas. It rests for at least three years in new American oak barrels. The hot Texas weather pushes the spirit deep into the wood. That gives you a bold, dark and full-bodied whiskey.

Every bottle is filled from one hand-picked barrel. Because of that, no two bottles taste exactly alike. Each one has its own small twist on the house style. The standard version is bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV). If you like more power, there is also a cask-strength version.

Garrison Brothers makes this bourbon from Texas-grown corn, soft red winter wheat and malted barley. Using wheat instead of rye gives a softer, rounder feel. The team cooks, distills, barrels and bottles everything at their own Hill Country distillery.

In your glass, look for oak, vanilla and caramel. Red fruit like cherry comes through next. Leather and warm baking spice add depth. The finish is long and warm. It is a fine pick for slow sipping with friends.
