FEW Straight Rye Whiskey is a true American craft spirit made by FEW Spirits, a small but renowned distillery in Evanston, Illinois—a town once famous for the Temperance Movement, which makes its location delightfully ironic. This whiskey is crafted from a blend of 70% rye, 20% corn, and 10% malted barley, creating a rich and balanced character. It contains 46.5% alcohol (93 proof) and is made entirely through a grain-to-glass process, using locally sourced grains.
Aged for at least two years in new, air-dried American oak barrels, it develops a smooth yet spicy profile that reflects the tradition of old-fashioned, Pre-Prohibition rye whiskies. The flavor is both spicy and fruity, offering notes of apple, pear, and plum, along with hints of cinnamon, clove, orange peel, caramel, and vanilla. Each sip finishes long and smooth, leaving a pleasant touch of orange, spice, and apple tart.
Known for its balanced and approachable taste, FEW Straight Rye Whiskey is perfect for sipping neat or enjoying in classic cocktails like a Manhattan. The name “FEW” cleverly honors Frances Elizabeth Willard, a leader of the Temperance Movement, and the whiskey itself has earned several awards, including Whisky Advocate’s Craft Whiskey of the Year (2013).
