Fettercairn 24 Year Old is a rare Highland single malt from a distillery founded in 1824. Fettercairn sits in Aberdeenshire, in the east of Scotland. Its spirit stills wear a cooling ring that sends cold water down the copper. That extra copper contact helps build the fruity, tropical style the distillery is known for.

This whisky spent 24 years maturing, mostly in American white oak casks that once held bourbon. It is bottled at 46.5%, with natural color and no chill filtering. Only 500 bottles were sent to the United States.

The nose is rich with tropical fruit, Madagascan vanilla, toffee and fresh pastry. On the palate you find guava, Alphonso mango, warm honey and red licorice. The finish brings soft red berries, star anise, gentle roasted coffee and nutmeg.

Critics rate it highly. Wine Enthusiast scored it 97 points in 2025, and Whisky Advocate gave it 93.

Let it rest in a nosing glass for a few minutes before you taste. A few drops of water bring out even more fruit and spice. It goes well with crème brûlée, apple tart or roasted pecans. This is a bottle to open slowly with someone who loves aged Scotch.
