This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is crafted by Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky and bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). It’s an extra-aged bourbon without a specific age statement but typically includes barrels aged between 6 and 8 years. As a Small Batch bourbon, it’s made by blending whiskey from a limited number of barrels, giving it a rich and consistent flavor. The name “1783” pays tribute to the year Evan Williams founded Kentucky’s first distillery on the Ohio River.

Made with Heaven Hill’s traditional recipe of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley, it has a beautiful golden amber hue. The aroma is warm and inviting with notes of vanilla, butter, sweet corn, caramel, and cinnamon. On the palate, it tastes semi-sweet and oaky, featuring flavors of honey, caramel, vanilla, and spice. The finish is smooth and slightly dry with hints of oak, cinnamon, and a touch of nuttiness.

In 2021 its proof was increased from 86 to 90 and the bottle received a refreshed design. Known for being a high-quality yet affordable bourbon, it has earned multiple awards including the Consumers’ Choice SIP Award for several years.
