El Tesoro Extra Añejo 85th Anniversary is a limited edition from La Alteña distillery in Jalisco. It marks 85 years since Don Felipe Camarena founded La Alteña in 1937.

Master distiller Carlos Camarena created it with Fred Noe of Jim Beam. The tequila aged for over three years in Booker’s 30th Anniversary bourbon barrels. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave.

On the nose you find cooked agave, cherry, leather, molasses and vanilla. The sweet palate brings blackberry, almond, tobacco, coffee and caramel. The finish is long, velvety and creamy, with a touch of spice.

Sip it neat, perhaps with dark chocolate. It is a rare bottle for collectors.
