Blanco (Silver) Tequila is typically unaged or aged for a very short time, giving it a fresh and vibrant character. This Mixto Tequila is made with at least 51% Blue Weber Agave, often around 70–71%, while the remaining 29–30% of sugar comes from Piloncillo, a traditional Mexican unrefined sugar, and sometimes other cane sugars.
The agave is sourced from the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, known for its naturally sweeter agave, and the water comes from the mineral-rich springs of the Tequila Volcano (El Volcán de Tequila). It is double distilled, often in copper pot stills, and usually rested for around 14 days in American oak, which is uncommon for a Blanco and adds subtle balance and flavor. Aromas include cooked agave, herbs, and hints of anise and black pepper, while the taste is naturally sweet with notes of cooked agave, butterscotch, anise, and spice.
Made exclusively at the historic “La Guarrena” distillery (NOM 1108) in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. The brand was founded in 1959 by Don Jorge Salles Cuervo and is now run by third-generation Master Distiller Tony Salles. Additive-free and natural, its clean, crisp, and slightly complex flavor is perfect for classic cocktails like Margarita, Paloma, or Batanga, and also excellent for sipping neat.
