This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted by Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley, California, a winery celebrated for its rich winemaking tradition. Made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a touch of Merlot and Cabernet Franc for balance, this wine offers a bold, complex, and full-bodied experience. It comes in a standard 750ml bottle and typically contains around 14.5% alcohol, though this may vary slightly by vintage.
Duckhorn first began producing Cabernet Sauvignon in 1978, blending grapes from both their estate vineyards and select top Napa Valley growers. This includes fruit from mountain slopes and valley floors, creating impressive depth and character. The wine features dark fruit flavors like blackberry, cassis, and plum, beautifully layered with notes of oak, vanilla, spice, and subtle hints of chocolate or tobacco.
Aged for about 16 months in French oak barrels, with roughly half being new oak, it develops smooth yet firm tannins and a velvety texture. It’s delightful to enjoy young but can also age gracefully for 10–15 years or more. Guided by the expertise of Duckhorn’s winemaking team, including Renée Ary on certain vintages, this wine pairs wonderfully with grilled steak, roasted meats, braised lamb, or aged cheeses.
