Description

This Ruby Port is a rich and flavorful fortified wine made by Dow’s Port, a famous and historic producer known for its exceptional craftsmanship. Dow’s is owned by the Symington family, who have been making fine Port wines for many generations. The wine comes from the Douro Valley in Portugal, the only region in the world officially allowed to produce authentic Port.

It is usually bottled in a 750 ml bottle and displays a deep ruby-red color, typical of Ruby Ports. The aroma is filled with sweet red fruit notes, especially raspberry and cherry, which also shine through in its taste. On the palate, it feels rich, fresh, and full-bodied, with layers of vibrant fruit flavor and Dow’s signature slightly dry finish.

Made from traditional Portuguese grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Roriz, this wine is aged for about three years in oak casks in Vila Nova de Gaia. It is ready to drink when bottled, so there’s no need for additional aging or decanting. Best served slightly chilled (15–18°C or 59–64°F), it pairs wonderfully with creamy blue cheese like Stilton or rich dark chocolate desserts. The alcohol content is around 19% ABV.
