This Blanco (Silver) Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and comes from Jalisco, Mexico, specifically the Los Valles region near El Arenal. It is produced at Tequilera Puerta de Hierro and bears the official seal “1477,” which confirms its authentic origin.
The tequila is carefully crafted under the guidance of master distiller Alberto Partida Hermosillo (sometimes listed as Gildardo Partida). The agave is slowly cooked in traditional stone or brick ovens to bring out its natural sweetness and then crushed using a roller mill before fermenting in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the tequila is double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills, ensuring a clean yet rich spirit.
This tequila offers robust flavors including cooked agave, citrus notes of lemon and lime, light herbs, green olive, and hints of spices, pepper, and earthy minerals. It tastes full-bodied with touches of pepper, citrus, a little sweetness, and sometimes light smoke or olive brine. Its appearance is bright, clear, and crystal-like, and it typically has 40% ABV (80 proof). Bottled in a 750 mL bottle, it is sometimes described as a mix of Blanco and Extra Añejo and is also known as “Gran Reserva de Don Alberto Blanco.” This tequila is perfect for sipping neat, on the rocks, or mixing in premium cocktails.
